I went pack rafting, ice climbing and back packing on the Goat trail for 5 days and I can hands down say that this was the best outdoors trip I have ever been on. The pack rafting with Spencer was amazing. We took an all day trip up and down rapids and had a blast. Spencer was an amazing guide and took the time to explain what to do and how to do it. The ice climbing with Jack was awesome. We hiked glaciers, climbed giant sheets of ice and had breath taking views. Jack went into great detail on how to ice climb and made sure everyone was 100% safe. The back packing trip was truly a once in a life time experience. I was in a group of 7 people with 2 guides and we spent 5 days in the back country in the Goat trail. We had Spencer and Chris Brothers as our guides. I have done many outdoors trips with many guides and Spencer and Chris were by far the most informative and the most caring guide so have ever had. During this backpack trip Spencer and Chris were always there for us and truly cared about what we thought and helped us with whatever we needed. If you are wanting to go on an Alaska trip I would highly recommend KWG because they truly are the best people and guides in Alaska. Went on the Root Glacier hike with Hannah as our guide. She was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting facts along the way about the local geography and plant life. Root Glacier was fantastic, with very cool waterfalls and ice formations. I went to KWG with a group of 16 other teenage guys, and there was not a single issue with group management, logistics, supplies, or food quantity. I spent five days in the backcountry with Monte and Jack, which was an absolutely incredible experience in every way, largely due to their guiding skills. This is a world-class service with guides who regularly put in 18 and 20 hour days to ensure that a day goes perfectly smooth. If you are looking for a guide service, this is the best choice by leaps and bounds, and should be your only consideration. Monty, Brothers, Spencer, Taylor, Austin, Jack, and the whole KWG staff were phenomenal. I have had guides before, but these people were not just guides, they were friends. Great service...great camp....out of the park staff!! We tried to rent crampons and got rejected. After buying a T-Shirt and asking twice the previous day to confirm that they would rent us crampons Laura rejected us. She said "We only rent crampons to locals" and "it's personal preference who we rent them too". Then she said ok I'll rent them to you but followed it up by claiming the printer was broken and there was no liability forms. We tried to hike the glacier without them and on our way back we watched someone return crampons! Oh yeah and the credit card reader didn't work and we had to pay for the shirt with cash.
